Clinical Utility:
Monitor therapy, Determine compliance or Assess toxicity.
Toxicities occur at 100.0-150.0 mcg/mL (seizure disorder) or >125.0 mcg/mL (Bipolar mania). Symptoms - respiratory depression, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, ataxia, lethargy, miosis, and nystagmus.
Sever toxicity: >450.0 mcg/mL. Symptoms - above plus possible hyperammonemia, metabolic acidosis, and hepatotoxicity.

Collect just before next dose. Collect anytime for suspected toxicity but note, that in overdose situation may consider checking levels every 3-4 hours especially with extended release products. Patients with therapeutic levels initially may go on to develop toxicity in a short time frame. Deliver to Logistics Lab. |
