Notes: Legionnaire's disease cannot be diagnosed with a single laboratory test. It is recommended to order a respiratory Legionella culture in conjunction with patient's history.
Clinical Utility: Test detects Legionella pneumophila type I antigen and may be negative with other Legionella types and species. Test remains positive for weeks-months following primary infection with Legionella pneumophila I.

Collect urine in sterile cup first. Use the "Transfer Straw Kit" to fill the tube. See instructions on package. Urine specimen must be drawn to the minimum fill line and not exceed the maximum fill line to maintain correct additive to urine ratio. Mix tube when filled 8 to 10 times by inversion |
